MAORI CAPABILITY

 

Wherever Lance (NZ) establishes a commercial project, the local hapu will be invited to participate in its Maori Capability program. The program has four core features:

 

  1. ASSET BASE
    Lance (NZ) typically requires land that is suitable for large scale commercial projects (generally flat or gentle slope, easy access to  roads, availability of water and power). Lance (NZ) will give priority to utilising and providing returns for Maori land and entering into a joint-venture, limited partnership or a simple lease arrangement for land and/or natural resources.   
     

  2. CAREER EMPLOYMENT
    Lance (NZ) will give priority to employing members of the hapu and other local Maori.  Lance (NZ) views its employment as a career opportunity where workplace training and development will be offered to increase the skill-set, qualifications and capability of all its employees. Training and development will be linked to remuneration increases and position advancement.
     

  3. FINANCE & PROJECT DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
    Online education and training courses will be provided as an introduction to finance and project development methodologies and principles. Selected participants will be offered an internship in the New York office of Lance Capital where the unique finance and project development methodologies used by Lance (US, NZ) will be taught.  On the job experience with Fortune 100 companies, Wall Street and other international financial centers around the world will be provided. The overarching objective of the internship program is develop a large team of specialist expertise that will be employed by Lance (NZ) to help expand its operations in NZ and Oceania. 
     

  4. MANAGEMENT TRAINEE
    Trainees will be sent to the project facility sites of our international Developer Partners. Trainees will receive on the job training and experience in developing, constructing, managing and running large-scale commercial projects across of broad range of project divisions. Trainees will  gain experience and training at the General Manager up to the CEO level. The overarching objective of the management trainee program is to have the trainees return to New Zealand to help manage, operate and expand the NZ based projects of Lance and its developer partners.
